Dear  Cube Googler... 

Hi, The Cube Cinema is missing you

  ...and so it goes.


if you should wish to here about alternative entertainments at The Microplex

 CUBE STILL SHUT

We are now reluctant to put a date on The Cube re-opening.
Why....? Well we are still waiting and waiting for our new
entrance and corridor and toilets to be built and made safe
for you. It is all out of our hands and ultimately  frustrating,
but we are getting closer, of course
when we know , YOU WILL! Perhaps JULY now *@#%:(


THE BAR
While we wait we have begun to re-build the bar, The Cube re-build, it will be
bigger, woodier, darker but with a window. Able to
accommodate all kinds of cinematic and musical and drinking activity



FILM-MAKERS
We have also begun to search Bristol and beyond for films
(short dramas, local documentaries, 16 mm mood pieces,
super 8, digital, experimental, logical and  Illegal)
for our forum for local film makers and visual artist BLUESCREEN.
Please contact us if you want to get involved and submit your film.


MUSICIANS
As before we will also be housing some the best of local and
international musicians within the Cube. The Cinema is a great
space for music that requires something a bit different or the
calm or noise of a seated audience.

Some use the space to showcase their music with specially
prepared visuals or films (note: electronica and electro-acoustic
forms found their home at The  Cube), some like to play in the pitch-black
(at BLACKOUT), mad heads like to us  it in a more avant-garde
and improvised way, others take the opportunity to  re-soundtrack a film.
Acoustic and  jazz musicians enjoy the unplugged opportunities.

If you are interested in putting on gigs or being a support act or trying
something cineMATIC...give us a bell/email and send in your stuff.


ART
Exhibitions will still continue
in our space, but they will be more focussed on time based work . Slides,
videos, net art, though very special visual work with a leaning toward
the avant garde and underground will be conisidered.  call the curator.
